Hello All… I just finished reading No Substitute for Murder by Carolyn J. Rose. This is not normally the kind of book that I would read but it was short and only 99 cents to download on my Nook.
The main character, Barbara Reed, is a divorced substitute teacher who dreams of being a licensed teacher one day. Until then she is stuck subbing. She keeps stumbling over dead bodies which looks very suspicious to one determined detective. She has a kind elderly neighbor, an overbearing sister, and a lovable dog named Cheese Puff to round out the main characters.
The story was short and quick. The killer(s) were not hard to figure out. Read on a rainy day!
Until next time…keep reading!
At the moment I am rereading It by Stephen King. I have to admit that I really don’t enjoy reading horror books but I have to make an exception with this book.
I have to admit, this is one where I saw the movie before I read the book and had nightmares. Then I started thinking, the book had to be better and it totally is. You get to know the characters better, a lot more in dept. This is not a light read with over 1000 pages and you may never want to go to the circus again.
Not a fun summer beach read but you don’t want to pass this one up!
They were seven teenagers when they first stumbled upon the horror. Now they were grown-up men and women who had gone out into the big world to gain success and happiness. But none of them could withstand the force that drew them back to Derry, Maine to face the nightmare without an end, and the evil without a name. What was it? Read It and find out…if you dare!
I am brand new to blogging but I am intrigued and thought I would give it a try. I am going to be blogging about what I love, BOOKS! I love to read anything and everything. From kids books to adult, I will be blogging about everything. Feel free to post and let me know what is on your mind.
